Mrs. Lois Pope, 87, of Paris, passed away peacefully on Friday February 10, 2012 surrounded by her family.

She was born July 24, 1924 in Deport, Texas the daughter of Timothy and Runnie Windham Hutson. She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of the Ramseur Baptist Church and one of her pastimes was playing bingo. In February of 1944 she married Jessie James Pope in Deport, Texas. He preceded her in death on December 13, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Tellas Hutson, Roy Lee Hutson, and Elbert Ray Hutson.

Mrs. Pope is survived by her children Judy and Dale Loggins, James and Carol Pope, and Shirley Compton; grandchildren Sherrie and Tim Lewis, Kristi and Kevin Francis, Jennifer and Kenny Hamm, Stephanie and Blake Oubre, and Traci Pope; great grandchildren Emilee Lewis, Brook Patrick, Kyndel Francis, Grace Hamm, Callie Click, Sophie Oubre, Cody Patrick, Dakota Click, Caleb Lewis, Mason Hamm, Payton Patrick, Carson Click, Justin Robnett, Landon Dollar, Derick Patrick and Aaron Francis.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 13, 2012 in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Don Morton and Kenny Hamm officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery with Tim Lewis, Kenny Hamm, Blake Oubre, Cody Patrick, Dakota Click, and Clifton Pope serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb Lewis, Mason Hamm, Payton Patrick, Carson Click, Justin Robnett, Landon Dollar, Derick Patrick, and Aaron Francis serving as honorary pallbearers. Family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. till 5:00 P.M. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.

If desired in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Premier Hospice.
