JAMES T. “Tom” POTEET, 90, of the Biardstown Community, died at 4:00 AM, Monday, January 16, 2012 at Paris Regional Medical Center-South.  A memorial service is set for 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Glory Baptist Church with Rev. Lance Westbrook officiating.  Burial will be private in the Lake Creek Cemetery in Delta County.  Arrangements are under the direction of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home.

Tom was born August 17, 1921 in Biardstown to Luther and Luthisha Miles Poteet.  He married Nelle Young on November 22, 1952 in Paris.  Mr. Poteet was a farmer for most of his long life.

Mr. Poteet is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nelle Poteet of Biardstown and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Terrilyn; his parents; and six siblings.
