Charles Edward Jimerson, 69, of Powderly passed away January 14, 2012. He was born on May 28, 1942 in Dallas, Texas a son of Willie Dee and Viola Marie Coln Jimerson and grew up in the Union Bowers Community. Charles was a mechanic in the can plant with Campbell Soup Company from 1976 till 2000, he was a Methodist, and a member of the Paris Masonic Lodge # 27. He had served as past master of both the Paris and Blossom Lodges. He faithfully served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and served in the Army Reserve. He also had served in the Boys Scout Troop # 2 as a scoutmaster. His greatest joy in life was his grandsons and enjoyed live steam trains with his grandsons. He loved the outdoors and loved fishing, camping, and hunting. He enjoyed his horses and horseback riding. On February 20, 1970 he married Minnie L Johnson in Farmers Branch, Texas. Survivors include his spouse Minnie L. Jimerson of the home; daughters Pennye Wilson of Powderly, Peggye Sprouse and husband Billy of Reno, Patience Allen of  Powderly, and Paige Lewis and husband Anthony of Austin; grandchildren James Wilson, Lesley Wilson and wife Shawna, Troy Eddie Harrell and wife Jasmine, Justin Harrell, Lloyd Harrell, Luke Allen, Matthew and Wyatt Lewis, and Billy and Jessica Sprouse; five great grandchildren; brother Willie JJimerson and wife Linda of North Carolina; sisters Rose Poovey of Garland, Christine Housholder and husband Richard of Washington, Billie Ross of Irving, Linda Kiker of Bedford; aunts Christine McIntosh of Plano and Jewel Gill of Waco; brothers-in-law Walter Johnson of Mesquite and Leland Johnson of Louisiana; host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Hutchison officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday in the Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. Masonic burial services will be conducted by the Paris Masonic Lodge and military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
